TRANSITIONS

Transitions is a series of eight intimate collages (each 16" x 11") mounted on medical X-rays and framed in Plexiglas. These works are constructed on canvas supports. They employ materials and methods that echo medical procedures (cutting, suturing, taping, bandaging) to explore themes of vulnerability, recovery, and transformation.

Enhanced with layered paint and oil stick drawing, each collage embodies a moment in flux: a space between injury and healing, fragmentation and coherence. While modest in scale, the works in Transitions are conceptually rich, serving as early investigations into the aesthetic and symbolic language that would later define my Healing Figures series.

Using X-ray imagery often associated with diagnosis, exposure, and fear, the Transitions Series reclaims these clinical materials as metaphors for regeneration, resilience, and the quiet power of transformation. Serving as a conceptual bridge to my later Healing Figures, these works mark a pivotal point in my ongoing exploration of the body as both a biological site and an emotional landscape.
